The Street Soccer Arenas of Copenhagen

This is Israels Plads in Copenhagen. It's one of the many incredible urban parks throughout, what very well could be, the best city I have ever visited. For years, I've taken photos of soccer goals wherever I've found them. However, since starting to play futsal last year I've become more obsessed and aware of them.

This park, built I believe in 2014, is a mix of basketball, skateboarding, and futsal. It also has a bunch of water features for the warmer days. It's spotlessly clean and is flanked by buildings dating back to the late 1870s. Across the street is Torvehallerne, two market halls full of everything from fruit stands to seafood vendors to home goods.

Copenhagen seems to mesh the new and old, the brick and glass, and the cement and grass better than any place I've been. Next time, I just need to make sure to bring my kids and a soccer ball.
